Generalized mixture operators using weighting functions: A comparative study with WA and OWA
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the context of multiple attribute decision making, we present an aggregation scheme based on generalized mixture operators using weighting functions and we compare it with two standard aggregation methods: weighted averaging (WA) and ordered weighted averaging (OWA). Specifically, we consider linear and quadratic weight generating functions that penalize bad attribute performances and reward good attribute performances. An illustrative example, borrowed from the literature, is used to perform the operators’ comparison. We believe that this comparative study will highlight the potential and flexibility of generalized mixture operators using weighting functions that depend on attribute performances.

Weighted means and weighting functions
We present some properties of mixture and generalized mixture operators, with special stress on their monotonicity. We introduce new sufficient conditions for weighting functions to ensure the monotonicity of the corresponding operators. However, mixture operators, generalized mixture operators neither quasi-arithmetic means weighted by a weighting function need not be non-decreasing operators,...
متن کاملModeling different decision strategies in a time tabled multimodal route planning by integrating the quantifier-guided OWA operators, fuzzy AHP weighting method and TOPSIS
The purpose of Multi-modal Multi-criteria Personalized Route Planning (MMPRP) is to provide an optimal route between an origin-destination pair by considering weights of effective criteria in a way this route can be a combination of public and private modes of transportation. In this paper, the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (fuzzy AHP) and the quantifier-guided ordered weighted averaging (...
متن کاملThe Induced Generalized Hybrid Averaging Operator and its Application in Financial Decision Making
We present the induced generalized hybrid averaging (IGHA) operator. It is a new aggregation operator that generalizes the hybrid averaging (HA) by using generalized means and order inducing variables. With this formulation, we get a wide range of mean operators such as the induced HA (IHA), the induced hybrid quadratic averaging (IHQA), the HA, etc. The ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operato...
متن کاملDISA SEMINARI Generalizations of weighted means and OWA operators: an analysis and new proposals
Weighted means and ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operators are well-known functions widely used in aggregation processes. Although both are defined through weighting vectors, their behavior is quite different: The weighted means allow to weight each information source in relation to their reliability while OWA operators allow to weight the values according to their ordering. Nevertheless, th...
متن کاملFailure Mode and Effects Analysis Using Generalized Mixture Operators
Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a method based on teamwork to identify potential failures and problems in a system, design, process and service in order to remove them. The important part of this method is determining the risk priorities of failure modes using the risk priority number (RPN). However, this traditional RPN method has several shortcomings. Therefore, in this paper we p...
